It focuses on four octogenarian and nonagenarian women whose. amazing life journeys reflect the lives of hundreds and thousands of other migrants who left the islands of the Caribbean to support the UK’s recovery after WW2.

We hear about their travel, work, family and ambitions, as well as the challenges they faced in trying to settle in their new country. We are given a window into their everyday decisions enabling them to build family foundations and embrace their new homeland as Black British, whilst still proudly Caribbean.
